Our Student Council

Our student council 23’-24’ have had a busy few months. This year's council consists of our Chairpersons, Hana and Fionn and their peers Steve, Oisín, Rocco, Poppy, Valentina and James.

Our student council listen and voice the ideas and opinions of their class and their representing classes to ensure our school is child-centred and democratically run.

The student council have played a pivotal role in representing our school in various events this year - hosting a student council breakfast meet with our neighbours Gaelscoil Bhrian Bóroimhe (GBB); visiting the Gaelscoil Bhrian Bóroimhe; Sharing ideas and planning Seachtain na Gaeilge activities with GBB; Using public transport (Swords Express) to visit Dáil Éireann; a surprise trip to Bounce and Beyond with the Student Council from GBB.
The student council were also involved in installing a mirror in each classroom (as the children requested); fixing and replacing the basketball nets; completing a PE storeroom stock take and sorting of resources. A big achievement this year has been the purchase of goal posts for the classes to use, the student council will be responsible for ensuring their safe and correct use and storage.

Thank you to Shop Arty for their kind and generous donation to the student council in September which made all these activities and achievements possible! https://www.shoparty.ie/

You can take a look at our Student Council noticeboard when you visit the school next!
