PTA

Our Parent/Guardian, Teacher/Staff Association (PTA) aims to be as inclusive to all of our school community as we work closely with the staff and Board of Management (BOM) of SETNS. We are made up of a group of 12 parents/guardians, 2 BOM representatives and 2 Teacher/Staff representatives. Our focus is on creating connections, fundraising and having some fun along the way but mainly we are there to support the needs of the school.
PTA Swords Educate Together 2023
Co-ordinating fundraisers is a large part of the PTA’s role. The money raised at these events is used to fund various initiatives throughout the school. In the past we have raised funds for sports equipment, soft furnishings, SEN resources and our amazing Sensory Room to name but a few. The decision on what we are fundraising for is made in consultation and with the guidance of the BOM and the school principal.
Over the years, the PTA has introduced some wonderful initiatives which have become staples within the SETNS community. These include our annual Winter Market, Festive Cards, Annual Spring Clean, Women's mini marathon and Book Fair. We continue to build on these foundations and if possible introduce some new initiatives and we are always open to new ideas.
We also have a fabulous group of parents who support and assist us, our Friends of the PTA, without whom we could not deliver half of the projects. Anyone can become a Friend of the PTA, there is no pressure to be available for events or get involved in everything we do. To become a member of our Friends of the PTA you just need to pop an email to pta.setns@gmail.com with your own name and number and your child's name, class and their teacher.
