Music on Mondays
If you were to pass through the school corridors on a Monday afternoon at 12pm, you might just think you were hearing things... for the past couple of months, Peter has been holding a 'Music on Mondays' play-along ukulele session open to all children from 3rd-6th class (since those children have had ukulele lessons in school already) and the turnout has been similar to Woodstock, if not a little less chaotic. Children from across the school have been jamming out together for a short session during their lunch breaks (at 12pm). Hopefully it has encouraged some of them to dust off the ukulele or other instruments at home, a great way to spend a sunny evening in the garden after a busy day! All going well, these free sessions will continue until the Monday 1st June.
If you have a budding ukulele player at home, don't forget that a ten minute practise each day can go a long way - even just pop online and search for 'ukulele playalong' and you can find a range of songs to play along to, in a fun interactive way - here's one example, but there are loads out there - https://www.youtube.com/@Ukulaliens
Keep on rockin' SETNS!
