Athletics in SETNS

A big shout out to our athletics teams in 2026. Over the period of two days, we had over sixty athletes competing across a range of distances from 300m up to 600m, all on grass out in Newbridge Park as part of the Fingal Athletics League. Everybody represented their school with exemplary behaviour and should be so proud of themselves. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help out, and to staff at SETNS who went along on the days to help out. Without all of these adults, none of this would be possible.

The aim of Fingal Athletics League is to get more children involved in sport, and they certainly succeeded this year! As a result of our participation in the league, we’ve had plenty of children in the school decide to join an athletics club. If you’re interested in signing your child up to a club or finding out more about clubs in the area, please ask them to call in to Peter’s room and he can point them in the right direction! I’m sure they might already know children in their class who have joined and are loving it. Another option is to get involved in your local parkrun for free!
