🌟 STEAM Week at SETNS 🌟
What an exciting week we’ve had at SETNS! Our annual STEAM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths) was packed full of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. The children were buzzing with enthusiasm as they explored new ideas and discovered the fun side of STEAM subjects.
🧱 LEGO Engineering Workshops
Our pupils became real-life engineers as they worked in teams to design and build incredible LEGO creations. From minecraft creatures to superhereos and their own amazing creations, the children showed great imagination, teamwork, and perseverance.
🖨️ 3D Printing Workshops
The older pupils had the chance to see a 3D printer in action! They learned how designs are created on a computer and then brought to life layer by layer. It was fascinating to watch a boat being created right before their eyes.
➗ Maths Games with Parents
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Maths Games Morning. The classrooms were full of laughter as families worked together on puzzles, card games, and number challenges. It was wonderful to see maths being enjoyed by everyone!
🧮 Maths Activities in the Hall
During the week, every class visited the hall to take part in a range of hands-on maths activities. From Lego, polygrams, beebots to giant snakes of ladders there was something for everyone — and plenty of excitement along the way!
🤔 Estimation Stations
One of the children’s favourite challenges was the Estimation Stations. They had to use their best guessing skills to estimate everything from the number of ‘eyeballs’ in a jar to the weight of a pumpkin. It was a brilliant way to get everyone thinking mathematically in a fun, practical way.
🔬 Experiment Day
One of the most talked-about events of the week was our Experiment Day! Each class had the chance to visit four different classrooms to watch and take part in exciting science demonstrations led by four different teachers. From fizzing reactions to floating objects and mysterious colour changes, there was amazement and laughter in every room. The children loved moving around the school to discover something new in each session — the excitement could be felt everywhere!
