Meet the Principal - Gerard Kelly
I have been Príomhoide (Principal Teacher)in Swords Educate Together National School (or Swords Educate Together ‘Friendly’ National School, as many of the pupils call it) since 2001. We have a library of photograph albums since then, capturing all aspects of school life through the years. I frequently review these albums and every time I do this, I am reminded of the many factors that make our school what it is.
My years here since 2001 have been very happy years; it’s that sort
of place. I work with a wonderful staff, collaborate with a
remarkable parent body and engage daily with the most wonderful
children. We all work and learn better when the atmosphere around us
is a happy one. When asked what the two most important things in the
school are, the children will quickly reply, ‘to be safe and happy’.
Our front door reads, Welcome
Friends. We welcome everyone coming through our doors into our
happy, children-centered school.
