June 14th 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are fast approaching the Official Opening of our New School Building which will take place next Monday 18th June 2012. The Minister for Education and Skills Ruairí Quinn TD will officially open the school building. We’re thrilled that each class will have a parent/guardian who will represent them at the event. Pupils from each class level will present their interpretation of the theme Building for the Future at this event and huge appreciation goes to teachers,SNA’s and children for their on-going preparations. School display areas are being set up and the hall will host displays set-up in co-operation with Gaelscoil Bhrian Boroimhe.

The PTA are undertaking to organise many aspects of this event and have taken an all- hands-on-deck approach to setting up catering in three areas, decking out the school entrance area among many other tasks. The Student Council are organising a SETNS Newsletter to mark the event and one copy will be sent home to all families next week. With so much preparation already completed and in hand we can look forward to celebrating the years of commitment, dedication and vision of so many of you within the SETNS community over very many years with the official opening of the new school building next Monday.

SETNS Open Evening Monday 18th June 2012

As a follow on to the Official Opening event our SETNS Open Evening will also take place on Monday 18th June from 5.30pm-7.30pm. We look forward to welcoming you all to the evening of the 18th where our theme for the Official Evening will be a continuation of our official opening theme “Building for the Future”. The PTA has already sent out a letter earlier this week with details for this part of the celebrations and you will find their letter on the website too.

Run for the Cure Friday 15th June

As you are aware the running continues tomorrow with “Run for the Cure”.  I would like to thank all involved in the setting up of this event. The ‘Bun for the Cure’ will run alongside this event in school where children will be able to buy a bun for €1,all funds raised will be in aid of Cancer Awareness. Collection buckets will be visible on yard on arrival and at home time on Friday. It is a truly worthy cause and I would ask for your continued support and generosity in raising funds for the event. Your contributions are very much appreciated.
